One of my sisters was having an awful week a few weeks ago.
She vented a little on her blog, then deleted it but not before I had a chance to read it.
She lives over 2000 miles away so I can't be there for her like I really want
so the best I could do for now was send her chocolate!
Specifically cookies from Paradise Bakery! I packed some extra cookies since my mother and another sister live there too.
My favorite Paradise Bakery cookies are
Coconut Chocolate Chip, Black & White Chippers and Molasses (which they only have in the winter and are my mother's favorite).
I have to share my best cookie packing tip.
These cookies took 4 days to arrive at their destination and I was worried about them getting hard so I put 2 pieces of bread inside the bags with the cookies to keep them soft.
They arrived safe and sound and super soft!
Can I share my 2nd tip for shipping cookies?
This tip goes back decades to a time when
my grandmother packed my grandfather's lunch everyday.
She would take a bite out of one part of his lunch!
She said that when he saw that bite he would definitely be thinking of her.
I'm not one to break tradition so I took a bite out of almost every cookie.
It was a sacrifice!
Really!
I actually started feeling sick by the 10th cookie bite, but it was worth it!
