KaNdY KoNeS

I found these *Kandy Kones* over at "Celebrate Today the Super Chick Way".
They are going to be a cute decoration/party favor/treat container at the Sweet 16 party.
I would have rather bought them but there wasn't enough time to order them and I needed different colors/designs than what she offered on her etsy site.I bought 12X12 sheets of paper on sale in 6 different designs. Then I cut them into 6X6 pieces.
I was also lucky enough to run across two packages of 20 - 12 inch wooden dowels for $0.60 each!
Score!I hot glued 5 inches of the dowel diagonally onto the paper squares. Because the dowel is glued so high on the cone, it doesn't matter if you use cardstock or not. It will hold the treats.I quickly learned that the best way to glue these together was by starting on the base of the cone. The top will always come together after that.I hunted down some miscellaneous brads, gems and do-dads to glue inside the cones at the point. Then I dug through my scrap ribbon for random pieces that would match the colors.
I love that they look like they are wearing little bow ties. And from this angle I have a bouquet of Calla Lilies! The only thing I might go back and do is tie some plastic diamond rings at the base to go along with the theme. I probably won't. But I might! ;)Overall I probably spent about 2 hours and $4.20 to make 40 because I already had the scrap ribbon and brads/gems/do-dads. Prop yourself in front of your favorite show to make the time go by quicker.
They are going to be a nice little touch to the rest of the decorations!
